Brotox - Anti-Aging For Men

unsplash-image-6anudmpILw4.jpg

Despite seemingly tough exteriors, men, much like women, are concerned about aging and their appearances. Women have typically been held to much higher aging standards that men, but men are taking note, and wanting to slow down the aging process. Even men look in the mirror every morning and judge themselves by how they look. It is a natural reaction, and thankfully, Brotox can be an answer.

In 2014, more than 400,000 men received Brotox (botox injections for men) in America, and that number has increased significantly since. Whether it is pressure to ‘get the job’ and appear to fit in, Brotox is piercing the industry and increasing sales for Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin alike.

Men, especially Baby-Boomers, are focused on their health and fitness, and want their facial features to match their overall physical fitness. They too want to improve self-esteem and their overall quality of life.

Despite the catchy name, Brotox is the same procedure as Botox injections used to smooth away fine lines and wrinkles. During the procedure, which will last anywhere from 15-30 minutes, injections will be administered to the areas in which the patient wants to relax.

Results may take several days to set in, and will last anywhere from 3-6 months. While the procedure is quick, there might by slight discomfort in the injection sites. The patient can go back to work the same day, but it is important that the patient refrains from laying down for 4-5 hours after the injections, and does not exercise the same day that the injections are administered.

If you’re worried about appearing vain, don’t. Fear should not guide your ultimate decision, and you will join the tens of thousands of men already taking steps to improve their appearance, and ultimately feel good about themselves.

Xtreme Lashes

Xtreme Lashes Semi-Permanent Lash Extensions offered here at Radiant Skin RN are your answer to thicker, longer, fuller, more curled, defined, and beautiful lashes.

unsplash-image-_H4iwsvqKMI.jpg

Xtreme Lashes are single strands of synthetic lashes applied to each individual natural lash. They mimic the natural lash as the design features a tapered tip and a thicker base, adding elegance and fullness.

Xtreme Lashes was developed by Jo Mousselli, a former Pediatric ICU Nurse and Kindergarten teacher, who’s expertise and experience helped develop and shape safe and hygienic processes. Mousselli opted to choose a synthetic polyester to make Xtreme Lashes, as the material handles wear and tear better than others, and is most compatible with the human skin and cosmetics. Synthetic polyester is least likely to cause allergic reactions.

When applied properly, Xtreme Lashes look and feel completely real, and can be customized for each individual. There are three thicknesses and four curls to choose from, and the lashes will not crimp. The weight of the synthetic lashes are no heavier than the human lash, and when keeping up with applications, will be indistinguishable from your real lashes. Xtreme Lashes will not cause lashes to break or to fall out ahead of their natural cycle.

A variety of looks can be achieved by highlighting and layering, and can save a good deal of time in your daily beauty routine, as there is no need to apply mascara once the lashes have been applied.

The natural cycle of an eyelash falling out and growing back in is anywhere from 60-90 days. When a natural lash falls out, a new one has already begun to grow back without any visual difference. While some of the Xtreme Lashes may fall out sooner than later depending on the natural cycle of each individual lash, most stay in on an average of two months. Touch ups will be needed every 2-4 weeks to maintain lashes that will shed sooner than others.

Plan for 120-150 minutes for your first application, and 45-60 minutes for touch-up appointments.

Instant Skin Tightening and Lifting With MicroTox

unsplash-image-KguqaFJS05I.jpg

A new, cutting-edge trend emerging in the world of aesthetics is MicroTox.

MicroTox, also known as “baby botox”, provides instant results that has a “shrink wrap” effect on the areas treated. MicroTox involves tiny injections with needles smaller than a human hair to deliver a diluted neuromodulator solution into the shallow layers of the skin. These injections are focused on the face and neck areas. When this solution is injected into the outmost skin layers, the “shrink wrap” effect is achieved by causing muscles to respond immediately with skin retraction. This leaves the skin appearing tighter and more compressed, and allows fine lines to dissipate.

No more waiting 3-7 days for your Botox to take effect. You will walk out of the office with tighter, smoother skin that day, and the results will continue to improve over the next several days. Results typically last 3-4 months depending on the size of the area(s) treated.

MICROTOX BENEFITS:

  • Tightened skin on face, eyes, and neck

  • Reduced lines and wrinkles

  • Decreased pore size

  • Decreased sweating and face flushing

  • Slim nose

  • Slim jawline

  • Softened pebbly chin

  • Softened crows feet

  • Opens up eyes

  • Lifts eyelids and brows

The Best Antioxidants For Your Skin - Part 2

Continuing to highlight the best antioxidants for your face, it’s important to reiterate their benefits, and why antioxidants should be a daily part of your routine.

Your skin is your largest breathing organ, and taking care of it is vital. Antioxidants protect against free radicals, which damage the skin, increase stress, and expedite the aging process. Four out of five of our wrinkles come from environmental damage, and antioxidants can radically reduce those effects.

Let’s take a look at additional antioxidants to consider in your skin care routine.

VITAMIN E

Known as the skin vitamin, Vitamin E is a nutrient that is known for strengthening the skin’s immunity and maintaining its health. Vitamin E helps the body eliminate free radicals, nourish and protect the skin, and heal burns, scars, and wounds.

While Vitamin E may seem like an individual antioxidant, that is not quite true. Vitamin E encompasses several fat soluble vitamins known as Tocopherols, and is found naturally in many carrier oils such as Apricot Kernel, Flaxseed, Canola, Palm, Poppyseed, Olive and Soy.

In addition to being an antioxidant, Vitamin E is also a known anti-inflammatory. Some studies show this antioxidant in helping relieve itching, redness, and irritation in skin conditions, as well as stabilizing Vitamin C, which lends to additional antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support.

RESVERATROL

Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant found in the skin of red grapes, and is also sourced in peanuts, pomegranates and berries. Resveratrol helps brighten, smooth, and soothe the skin by protecting it from UVB damage that causes hyperpigmentation, photodamage, and collagen degradation. Its potency neutralizes free radical damage and promotes healthy collagen production. Additionally, resveratrol helps diminish wrinkles and increase firmness similarly to how the regeneration process works that allows vines to live for such a long time.

In this study, resveratrol worked as an excellent sunscreen when applied topically to the skin of mice, who were exposed to ultraviolet radiation.

GREEN TEA

Green tea is a superstar ingredient with known Eastern origin that has been making its rightful way into the world of skincare. It fights DNA repair through its powerful antioxidant, EGCG, which combats the signs of aging. Green tea is an anti-inflammatory that reduces redness and irritation, and is also an anti-bacterial agent that helps to unclog pores and treat acne.

This antioxidant also treats dark circles and puffy eyes as it contains caffeine and tannins, which help to shrink blood vessels and promote healthy circulation. Lastly, Green Tea contains Vitamin E and B2, which are essential for healthy skin maintenance.

The Best Antioxidants For Your Skin - Part One

As we have previously mentioned, antioxidants help protect the skin from free radicals – unstable and highly reactive molecules that cause damage to the cells by stealing electrons from other sources. Free radicals come from both external and internal sources. In the body, they exist in normal essential metabolic functions, and externally from the ozone, pollution, industrial chemicals used in food and in cleaning, and in X-rays, to name a few. This damage can affect DNA, protein, the matrix, and the outer barrier of our skin. Four out of five of our wrinkles come from environmental damage, so it is imperative that we have the protection of antioxidants in our skincare to help fight the aging process. You are never too young to start introducing antioxidants into your skincare routine.

So what are the best antioxidants for our skin? There are several to take into consideration.

VITAMIN C

Also known as ascorbic acid, this potent antioxidant is a favorite in the skin care/dermatological industry. Not only does vitamin C help to lighten dark spots and even and brighten skin tone, it fights free radicals by binding them and removing them from the skin. Vitamin C is known to stimulate collagen production (think reducing fine lines!), protects against UV damage, and helps to thicken the dermis layer.

VITAMIN A

This antioxidant encourages healthy skin cell turnover, and can often be found in topical creams such as retinal, retinol, and retinoic acid, all in a variety of strengths. Vitamin A targets and stimulates fibroblasts, which are cells responsible for developing the tissue that keeps skin healthy and firm (youthful!). Vitamin A helps strengthen and protect the barrier of the skin, keeping it healthy and strong for fighting against pollutants and irritants, as well as bacteria and infections.

When using Vitamin A topically, it is best to start off two times a week in the evenings, and add days once your skin has adjusted. During the day, adding a mineral-based sunscreen is imperative at protecting the new skin cells that vitamin A has helped bring to the surface.

VITAMIN B3

Vitamin B3, also known as Niacinamide, packs quite a punch when it comes to antioxidants and offers many benefits. Niacinamide offers immunity support as it helps to build keratin, which keeps skin firm and healthy, and helps to grow the skins lipid barrier, which helps to maintain moisture. Vitamin B3 is also known to regulate oil production, treat acne – especially inflammatory kinds — and diminish fine lines and wrinkles by treating sun damage. Vitamin B3 helps to minimize the appearance of pores, as well as treat redness, hyperpigmentation, and blotchiness.

Niacinamide can be used daily, both mornings and evenings, and can be easily layered with other serums, but always added before moisturizer.

As mentioned in the benefits of Vitamin A, it is always wise to add a mineral SPF to your daily routine to protect your skin to prevent further damage, and to protect new skin cells.
